Kaplan’s Inspection Training Associates Promotes Michael Casey to Vice President and General Manager

Oceanside, CA - September 22, 2005 – Inspection Training Associates (ITA), a leader in home inspection training, business startup support, home inspection reports and home inspection software systems has promoted Michael Casey, 48, to vice president and general manager.  ITA is part of Kaplan Professional Schools, a division of Kaplan, Inc.

Casey, who formerly served as vice president of education for ITA, has authored some of the most widely used books in the industry, including co-authoring the Code Check® series, and he is an experienced national speaker.  Casey also has taught home and building inspection and expert witness practice throughout North America, and has served as president of both the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) and the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).  He has been an active member of both organizations for nearly 20 years. 

Prior to joining ITA in 1992, Casey owned Michael Casey & Associates in San Diego, one of the most successful building inspection businesses in the county.  He has performed more than 8,000 home and commercial inspections in the last 18 years. 

Casey succeeds Kevin O’Malley, former owner/founder of ITA.  Kevin will serve as president emeritus and director of special projects.
