SCORE! Educational Centers Opens 17th Center in Chicago Area

Chicago, IL, February 9, 2005 -- SCORE! Educational Centers, Inc., a subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc., is continuing to expand within its hometown of Chicago. A new SCORE! center has opened on the south side of Chicago in the Beverly neighborhood. The center is located at 2308 West 95th Street and will be the 17th SCORE! center to open in the Chicago metropolitan area.

"Our centers have helped thousands of children of all socio-economic backgrounds become life-long learners by developing critical academic skills, goal-setting abilities, self-confidence, and a love of learning."

SCORE!'s facility will offer students an engaging learning program designed to help them improve their skills in math, reading, and writing fundamentals. Each SCORE! Academic Coach works with seven students or less, offering a high level of personal attention. The interactive computer-based curriculum is tailored to meet each child's specific goals and needs. As the child progresses, the program adjusts to a more advanced level, providing a highly customized and challenging learning experience.

SCORE! has 17 centers throughout the Chicago area, including: Arlington Heights, Bloomingdale, Buffalo Grove, Chatham, Elmhurst, Glenview, Highland Park, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Lincoln Park, Naperville, Oak Park, Park Ridge, Schaumburg, Western Springs, West Town, and now Beverly. In March, SCORE! plans to open a center at 43rd Street and Pulaski Road in the Archer neighborhood.

Nationwide, there are 164 SCORE! Educational Centers that serve approximately 80,000 children annually. SCORE! has centers in 12 states, including Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Texas.
