Rocklin Center is SCORE!'s 165th Nationwide

Chicago, IL, February 14, 2005 -- SCORE! Educational Centers, Inc., a subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc., has opened a new learning center in Rocklin, California in the Stanford Ranch Village shopping center located at 2331 Sunset Boulevard. The Rocklin center is SCORE!'s third center in the Sacramento area, and marks 165 centers nationwide for SCORE! Rocklin is the first center to open in Northern California since 2002, other Sacramento locations are in Fair Oaks and Elk Grove.

Northern California is the home of our first center and we are eager to refocus our growth there, said Eric Cantor, President and CEO. Since the first SCORE! center opened in Palo Alto in 1992, we've added 31 additional locations throughout Northern California.

SCORE! helps students become life-long learners by developing critical academic skills, goal-setting abilities, self-confidence and a love of learning. Each SCORE! Academic Director works with seven students or less, offering a high level of personal attention. Students work on a sophisticated software program that is tailored to meet each child's specific goals and needs. As the child progresses, the program adjusts to a more advanced level, providing a highly customized and challenging learning experience.

Nationwide, there are 165 SCORE! Educational Centers that serve approximately 80,000 students annually. SCORE! has centers in 12 states, including Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Texas.
