Kaplan Opens First Test Prep Center in Ottawa

Center Operations to Support Growing Local Interest in Admissions to Increasingly Competitive University Landscape

Ottawa, ON, June 5, 2004 - Kaplan, the world leader in test preparation, starts its first course at its brand new Ottawa center this weekend. For the first time ever, prospective graduate school and university students in Ottawa will have access to a center devoted solely to their test prep needs, where they can take classes, study for their entrance exams or hold study group sessions. The new center features two full-sized classrooms, and a study center with video stations for videotaped lectures, as well as a computer station for practicing computer-adaptive tests.

Located at 161 Laurier Avenue West, Suite 200, the Kaplan center is located in the heart of the downtown area, less than a kilometer away from the University of Ottawa. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The center is closed on Fridays.

The center will provide courses to prepare for the MCAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, USMLE and CEE exams. Following is a list of start dates for upcoming classes for prospective medical, business, graduate, law and university students:

GMAT: 06/19
GRE: 06/20
LSAT: 07/04
SAT: 08/28
"Kaplan has been a part of the community for the past seven years," said Liane King, Director of Montreal & Ottawa Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, noting that Kaplan courses are currently offered on the University of Ottawa and Carleton University campuses. While Kaplan will continue to run classes at the University of Ottawa, local students preparing for their entrance exams will now also have the option of taking courses at the new center.
