Kaplan Professional Names Christopher E. Droge Director of Jones College
Denver, CO, January 17, 2003 - Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan, Inc., announced that it has named Christopher E. Droge as Director of Jones College, a leader in real estate training and one of the division's five real estate schools. Mr. Droge will oversee operations at the school including curriculum development, teacher development and administrative operations. He will report to Josh Levenson, General Manager, Kaplan Professional Real Estate Schools.
An education industry veteran, Mr. Droge joins Jones College from Ivy West Educational Services, Inc., one of the nation's fastest growing tutoring services. As a special consultant to the company, he provided guidance, insight and training on marketing, sales and hiring projects. Mr. Droge also served as a Regional Director for Ivy West for ten years, helping provide academic services to over 60,000 southern California students and implementing on-campus school partnership classroom programs at over 100 southern California schools.
Mr. Droge's experience also includes a tenure at Sylvan Learning Centers, where he served as Director of Special Projects and Director of National Operations at Sylvan Learning Centers. In this capacity, he evaluated potential course material, software and educational games for Learning Center programs, as well as continued guiding Learning Center integration of Sylvan Ivy Prep's SAT and ACT programs. In addition, Mr. Droge developed and implemented the marketing strategy for increased market penetration and positioning, increased center buy-in and improved inquiry conversion.
"Chris's combination of skills and background are ideal for the type of leadership we were seeking to continue the legacy of success at Jones College," said Josh Levenson, General Manager of Kaplan Professional Real Estate Schools. "His extensive experience, spanning from areas of curriculum development to call center management, will help Jones College continue to excel in providing top quality training in a growing industry. We are very pleased to have Chris join our team, and have no doubt he will play an integral role in the future direction of our business."
Mr. Droge replaces Sherry Steele, who is stepping down to pursue other interests after a successful two and a half year tenure during which the school saw significant improvement in facilities, curriculum and operating margins. She will remain with Jones College as an instructor.
Mr. Droge graduated from Yale University in 1987 with a B.A. in Physical Anthropology.
