Kaplan Professional Schools Expands Texas Operations; Names Renee LeClair Director
Kaplan's Growing Texas Presence Includes Launch of New High-Tech Facility in Carrollton
Dallas, TX, April 2, 2003 - Unifying its Texas regional operations, Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan, Inc., today announced that it has named Renee LeClair as Director of the division's Texas-based professional schools. This includes Leonard-Hawes Real Estate Schools, Dearborn Leonard Training and the American Inspectors Institute.
With several classroom-based facilities throughout the state, LeClair's newly unified operations are part of the network of Kaplan Professional Schools, which provide real estate, home inspection, appraisal, insurance and securities licensing and continuing education programs through live classroom instruction, Internet-based learning, and correspondence courses. In addition to the Texas operations, the Kaplan Professional Schools include Anthony Schools in California; Jones College in Colorado; The Dearborn Real Estate Institute in New Mexico; and ProSource Educational Services in Minnesota. In 2002, these schools served more than 150,000 students.
LeClair's responsibilities will include sales, operations, curriculum and instructor development and community outreach. She will report to Josh Levenson, President, Kaplan Professional Schools.
"Given the fast-growing needs of the market as well as our multiplying resources, it was critical that we synchronize our growing statewide operations - particularly as we continue to open new facilities such as Carrollton," said Levenson. "Renee's breadth of experience in areas such as sales, training and development, client relations management, business development and process improvement provides the ideal leadership to unify our 'sister schools' in Texas."
One of LeClair's first initiatives includes overseeing the opening of a new high-tech facility in Carrollton, TX, located at 4100 Midway Road, Suite 1055. The new school will provide quality pre-licensure, continuing education and special designation classes for real estate, home inspection and financial services professionals, with state-of-the-art classroom facilities.
A veteran of the Texas business community and Dallas resident for eight years, LeClair was most recently an international sales facilitator with i2 Technologies. During her tenure, she improved the effectiveness of sales training, contributing to an increase in average license deals from $600,000 to $1.2 million. She also developed and delivered the first customized and culturally adapted sales process training for Japan, and developed international web-based sales training resulting in cost savings of $3,500 per student.
Prior to that, LeClair spent six years with CompUSA in Dallas, most recently as training director for business and development operations, managing $75 million in annual revenue. She was responsible for conceiving, evaluating and designing the company's first online learning offering and streamlining national project management processes supporting $1.2 million in monthly revenue and reducing company expenses. She also held other senior sales and training positions with the company.
LeClair graduated from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1988. She also has a Diploma in Human Resources Management from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario.
