Kaplan College Extends Degree Credit to Students Enrolled in NETg's Wave Boot Camps

New York, NY, September 3, 2002
-- Kaplan College, an accredited leader in higher education with campus-based and online programs in business, information technology, criminal justice and paralegal studies, has formed a strategic partnership with NETg, a worldwide leader in corporate education and training and part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC, TSX: TOC), that will enable individuals to transfer up to 40 credit hours towards a Kaplan College bachelor's or associate's degree.

Under the terms of the agreement, students who have completed Microsoft and CompTIA training through NETg's Wave Boot Camps can transfer their credits towards Kaplan College's online Associate of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Bachelor of Science in Management degree with a concentration in Information Technology Management, provided they pass corresponding examinations.

"NETg, like Kaplan College, has been a pioneer in online learning with an established record of developing well-trained professionals through successful learning programs," said Robert Greenberg, President and CEO of Kaplan Higher Education. "We're pleased to be able to confer some of the benefits of our program to a greater pool of deserving students."

"This partnership enables students who participate in our Wave Boot Camps to gain the competitive advantage needed in today's marketplace," said Joe Dougherty, president of NETg. "By transferring credits into Kaplan College's programs, students can leverage their training investment from NETg to earn bachelor's and associate's degrees from a highly-regarded educational institution. It is the ultimate flexible learning option."
