Kaplan Inks Deal with Alloy Online to Offer Teens Prep Services For SAT, ACT and AP Tests in Time for Spring Exams at www.alloy.com

Kaplan, the nation's premier provider of educational and career services, and Alloy Online Inc., (NASDAQ:ALOY), a leading Internet destination for the 56 million teens in Generation Y, announced the availability of free test preparation services powered by Kaplan for the SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement (AP) exams at www.alloy.com.

Now the nearly 3 million students who take these high-stakes college entrance exams and college level tests annually can visit alloy.com's test prep center to receive free test-taking strategies and information. These services mark the first college prep services on alloy.com and follow the September launch of Kaplan's own e-commerce site, kaptest.com, which offers complete test preparation courses and services to college-bound teens.

"As the world's leader in test preparation and admissions, Kaplan is thrilled to be partnering with Alloy Online to reach even more college-bound students worldwide with its effective test-taking methods and strategies," said Sharon Miller, Vice President and General Manager at kaptest.com. "Alloy.com's clear popularity among teens - a target audience of Kaplan's - make our content partnership a natural fit, while expanding Kaplan's presence on the Internet beyond its own successful online test prep site, kaptest.com."

The Alloy Test Prep Center includes: Kaplan's general information on the SAT, ACT and AP exams' structure, 100 most common SAT words, college admissions information, College Application Dos and Don'ts and 10 tips for the Advanced Placement (AP) exams. In addition to the test prep center, Kaplan is running a contest on Alloy's Win Prizes Channel, where one lucky winner will receive a free test preparation course of his/her choice. The number of high school seniors taking the SATs increased 11% in 1999, up to more than 1,300,000 from last year's 1,173,000. In 1999, approximately 700,000 high school students took over 1.1 million AP exams, an 11% increase over 1998.
