Leonard-Hawes Real Estate School Moves to a New Facility in Houston

HOUSTON, TX, November 18, 2002 - In a move reflecting the booming real estate market and surging interest in real estate career training in Texas, Leonard-Hawes Real Estate School, a Kaplan Professional company and leader in Texas real estate career education, is opening a new high-tech facility in Houston.

Located at 1250 West Sam Houston Parkway, the new facility advances Leonard-Hawes' 15-year tradition of providing quality pre-licensure, continuing education and special designation real estate classes with state-of-the-art features including flat screen computers, a PowerPointTM presentation center, ergonomic chairs, large screens and projectors in every classroom. The school will shift all current operations, located at 5851 SouthWest Freeway, #615, to the new facility.

The school will host a grand opening and open house at the new location on November 20 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., featuring drinks, a catered buffet and raffled prizes.

The opening of the new facility comes in the wake of a healthy home sales market and dramatic increase in real estate licenses issued in the state. Data released earlier this year from the Texas Real Estate Commission showed that from September 2001 to April 2002, the number of new salesperson licenses issued jumped by 86 percent over the same period the previous year. According to the Houston Association of Realtors, residential property sales increased 7.6 percent over last September.
