Kaplan Expands Post-Secondary Reach With Acquisition Of TESST College Of Technology
Four Schools in Maryland, Virginia
New York, NY-- May 6, 2002 -- In a move that continues to broaden its reach into the post-secondary market, Kaplan, Inc. announced today that it has acquired TESST College of Technology, which offers high-tech certificate and associate degree programs in four locations in Maryland and Virginia. With this acquisition, Kaplan's Higher Education division now has 45 fixed-facility schools in 13 states, in addition to its online offerings.

With the exception of the owners, the TESST management team is expected to remain intact, with each school's director continuing with the institution.
Founded in 1956, TESST College of Technology (www.tesst.com) is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). TESST's programs are approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, and the Virginia Department of Education, Proprietary Schools Section. With three locations in Maryland and one in Virginia, the schools currently serve more than 1,500 full and part-time students.
