Kaplan, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO), announced today that Andrew S. Rosen, President and COO, and Robert Greenberg, Executive Vice President, will be speaking at ThinkEquity Parnters' Back to the Future: Site-Based Education Conference on June 5, 2002.

The two Kaplan, Inc. presentations will be webcast live:

Kaplan Higher Education Presentation: 1:30 pm EST, Robert Greenberg will discuss Kaplan's higher education division.

Kaplan, Inc. Presentation: 3:30 pm EST, Andrew Rosen will discuss Kaplan and its four operating units.

The event will be webcast live and will be available via this URL: www.washpostco.com.

The webcast will be available in Real Player and Microsoft Media Player and will take the form of audio stream.
