Self Test Software Releases first Windows XP practice test

ATLANTA, GA. - January 17, 2002 - Self Test Software, a Microsoft Certified Practice Test Provider, announces the release of its first Windows XP practice test, a simulation of the 70-270 Installing, Configuring and Administering Microsoft® Windows XP Professional exam. Certification candidates now can experience the look, feel and difficulty of this Microsoft exam before they actually sit for the live exam. Featuring 200 questions including multiple choice and exhibit type questions, Self Test's 70-270 practice test ranges from $99 for a download, $89 for 90-day online access and $79 for 30-day online access.

"There are many nuances to this exam that certification candidates will not know unless they take our practice test. For example, the distractors (incorrect answers) used in this exam include Windows 2000 knowledge that if chosen is not correct on the Windows XP Professional exam. This is a common practice in Microsoft exams - oftentimes confusing certification candidates" says Sharon Traywick, Product Development Manager.

Exam 70-270 counts toward the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification and counts as core credit for both the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) on Windows 2000 track and the Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) on Windows 2000 track. The 70-270 exam measures an individual's ability to implement, administer and troubleshoot information systems that incorporate Microsoft Windows XP Professional. Additionally, test candidates must be able to perform upgrades from previous versions of Windows to Windows XP Professional.
