Kaplan College Hosts Free Criminal Justice Education Seminars Featuring Guest Speaker Andrew J. Scott III, Boca Raton Chief of Police

New York, NY and Davenport, IA, April 17, 2002 - Kaplan College, part of Kaplan, Inc.'s higher education division and a premier accredited provider of higher education both online and at its Davenport, Iowa campus, has named Allan Waren Program Chair of its School of Information Technology. Waren will lead the development and design of Kaplan College's online and classroom-based IT education programs. Kaplan College's School of Information Technology currently offers six associate and certificate programs that provide comprehensive and flexible training on many of the most popular software applications and advanced technologies. Waren will be based at Kaplan College's Davenport, Iowa campus.

"Allan's expertise in the information technology industry is exceptional. He is a distinguished scientist, educator, and leader, whose knowledge will benefit our programs and our students," said Robert Greenberg, General Manager, Kaplan College.

Waren joins Kaplan College after a long and distinguished career as a faculty member at Cleveland State where he served as Chairman of the Computer Information Systems Department and twice served as Interim Dean of the Business School. Waren has a national reputation for his developments in linear and non-linear optimization programming. In addition, he created the solver tool for the top-selling computer spreadsheet program and has also built custom applications for a number of major corporations.

Waren is available to speak on trends in undergraduate IT education and the impact of current technological advances on IT instruction.

Kaplan College, located in Davenport, Iowa, offers degree programs residentially and through online instruction.
