Kaplan College Hosts Free Criminal Justice Education Seminars Featuring Guest Speaker Andrew J. Scott III, Boca Raton Chief of Police

Boca Raton, FL, April 11, 2002 - In conjunction with the launch of its online associate and certificate programs in criminal justice as well as the introduction of a justice administration emphasis to its online bachelor of science in management, Kaplan College will host free information seminars for prospective students. The seminars, which will be held on Thursday, April 24 at the Fort Lauderdale Embassy Suites Hotel, at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m., will feature an address on the importance of higher education for law enforcement professionals from guest speaker, Andrew J. Scott III, Boca Raton Chief of Police. Kaplan College faculty and administrators will also provide an overview of Kaplan College's programs as well as admissions and financial aid information.

"In my experience, higher education yields improved job performance and greater career satisfaction among law enforcement professionals," said Chief Scott. "Kaplan College's first-rate online programs enable justice and enforcement professionals of all experience levels to pursue the education they need while continuing to meet their ongoing work and family commitments."

In addition to Chief Scott's address, the seminar will include a presentation and panel discussion on Kaplan College's programs given by senior administrators and faculty, including criminal justice educator and former federal investigator, Dr. John Sullivan Jr. Prospective students will have an opportunity to learn about Kaplan College's unique online education, and speak to admissions officers about the application process, qualifying for financial aid and how previous academic, military, and career experience may count toward degree completion.

"At Kaplan College, online education doesn't mean impersonal education," said Dr. Sullivan. "We have designed these seminars to introduce law enforcement professionals and other prospective students to the personalized service they can expect at Kaplan College."
