Kaplan K12 Learning Services Broadens Offerings for Teachers, Administrators and Students
NEW YORK, October 10, 2001 - Kaplan, Inc., has broadened its suite of K12 offerings for schools to accommodate the growing demand for services that help teachers and students meet the challenges of higher academic standards. Offerings include new standards-based professional development programs; basic skills curricula for students; online assessment tools, and data analysis tied to prescriptive instructional solutions. With these new offerings, Kaplan builds upon its experience delivering quality services and products to large urban school districts such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, DC, Philadelphia and Miami, as well as smaller communities.

Professional Development Materials and Workshops- Kaplan's programs provide educators with insights and instructional strategies that can be integrated into existing curricula to help students meet state learning standards.
Curricular Materials - Kaplan offers supplemental curricular materials and programs, including:
Skill Review materials aligned to state standards in Math and English Language Arts. These materials help teachers identify and remediate skill gaps in key content areas.
Test-Readiness materials provide students with information on what to expect from their state's tests and offer strategies to help students "show what they know."
Achievement Planner 2.0 - Will offer online assessments, performance feedback, and prescriptive plans for teachers, building/district leaders and administrative staff. Student data can be analyzed and immediately used in the classroom to identify students' strengths and weaknesses and to tailor instructional planning in an effective and efficient manner.
College Test Prep and Admissions - Kaplan continues to offer its full line of SAT/ACT preparation courses and college admissions seminars taught by Kaplan instructors or by Kaplan-trained teachers in schools. Programs are based on a results-oriented, systematic approach, designed to build the skills and knowledge students need to improve their test scores. Courses are available in a variety of formats from one-on-one tutoring to online and center-based classes.
