Kaplan Publishes Revised and Updated Book for the Exit-Level TAAS:
NO-STRESS GUIDE TO THE EXIT-LEVEL TAAS, Second Edition
By Cynthia and Drew Johnson

New York, NY (October 2001)-Since 1990, the TAAS has played an essential role in Texas's ongoing efforts to raise academic standards and evaluate school performance. Failing TAAS scores can mean summer school for students and strict consequences for schools. Of the 245,000 10th graders tested during the 2001 administration of the TAAS, 10% did not meet minimum standards for Reading, 11% did not meet minimum standards for Math, and 11% did not meet minimum standards for Writing.

The No-Stress Guide to the Exit-Level TAAS (Kaplan, Inc. and Simon & Schuster; September 2001; $8.00) provides 10th graders with the tools they need to prepare effectively and approach these high stakes tests with confidence. This Guide includes:

Focused review of all the tested material
Tips for developing the critical thinking skills measured by the test
Effective test taking strategies, including time management, elimination of wrong answers, identification of clues, and more
Practice for every question type
An engaging presentation designed to appeal to high school students
No-Stress Guide to the Exit-Level TAAS is one of the latest books by Drew and Cynthia Johnson. The authors are state test experts and have written test review titles for 10 other states.
