New York, NY/Minneapolis, MN, November 13, 2001 -- Perfect Access Speer, a Kaplan Professional Company and a leader in software education and consulting for legal, financial, and professional services industries, announces that Bonnie Speer McGrath has been named Chief Executive Officer and Stephen Fredette has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer.

Fredette joined Perfect Access Speer in April of 2001 as Senior Vice President, in charge of the national sales and marketing efforts of the company as well as management of the New York office. In his new role as President and COO, Fredette will manage all internal operations of the company including sales and marketing, operations, premier consulting services, technology and accounting.

Bonnie Speer McGrath, age 40, is the founder of Speer Software which was acquired by Kaplan, Inc. and merged with Perfect Access, a Kaplan unit, last year. McGrath looks forward to the opportunity to spend more time with existing and new clients and to opening new markets as she transitions daily operating responsibility to Fredette. Fredette, age 41, has a proven track record of stellar success in highly competitive business segments, including financial services and the legal market. He has more than 20 years of experience providing strategic sales, marketing, financial, operational and human resources leadership for professional services organizations.

Prior to joining Perfect Access Speer, Fredette served as President of Electronic Systems Associates (ESA), a technology consulting and engineering firm headquartered in New York, and prior to that position, he held several key leadership positions with LANSystems, Inc., a leading systems integrator specializing in the legal and financial services markets. He started at LANSystems as an Executive Director, Sales and his last position was Chief Operating Officer. He received his B.S. in Finance from Siena College in 1982.
