JOSH LEVENSON NAMED VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER, KAPLAN PROFESSIONAL REAL ESTATE SCHOOLS

New York, NY, July 31, 2001 - Josh Levenson, a 25-year veteran of Kaplan, Inc., has been named Vice President and General Manager of Kaplan Professional Real Estate Schools, an operating unit of Kaplan Professional, which is a division of Kaplan, Inc. Levenson will oversee the unit's five real estate schools, which include Anthony Schools in California; Leonard-Hawes Real Estate Schools in Texas; Jones College in Colorado; The Dearborn Real Estate Institute (formerly the New Mexico Real Estate Institute) in New Mexico; and the recently acquired ProSource Educational Services in Minnesota. In 2000, these schools served more than 62,000 students.

The Kaplan Professional Real Estate Schools provide real estate licensing and continuing education programs through live classroom instruction, Internet-based learning, and correspondence courses, to help real estate professionals acquire the skills needed to meet state licensing and educational requirements. In addition, the schools offer programs for Sales Agents, Brokers, Appraisers and Contractors.

Most recently Vice President & General Manager of the Anthony Schools, Levenson has enjoyed a long career with Kaplan. In 1976, as a student at the University of Wisconsin, he opened Kaplan's first test preparation center in Madison, and later opened centers in Milwaukee and Minneapolis, the latter of which grew into one of the company's largest test prep centers. In 1992, Levenson was named Regional Director of Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, responsible for managing the central region of the United States. After taking on additional regions, Levenson was promoted in 1996 to Regional Vice President of Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. In 1998, Levenson moved to California to oversee Kaplan's test prep business in the Western U.S. and Canada.
