Lightspan and eSCORE.com Partner to Offer Leading Educational Services to one of the Web's Largest Community of Parents and Teachers

New York (May 1, 2000)
– Lightspan.com, a leading K-12 educational portal site for parents, students and teachers, today announced that it signed a content partnership with eSCORE.com, the Web's first customized educational services site for parents and their kids, newborn to age 18. This partnership will enable Lightspan to offer select eSCORE.com assessments on its Parent and Teacher channels. Visitors to Lightspan will be able to complete online skill evaluations and receive immediate, customized feedback on skill mastery, with recommended actions that parents can take to enrich their child's education.

Lightspan will also offer eSCORE.com's popular "Need to Know" educational content and "SMARTicles," age-specific articles on a range of topical issues, on its Parents and Teacher channels, increasing the reach of eSCORE.com's educational services and expertise. "We're excited to offer eSCORE.com's online assessments, enabling our members to get an immediate, individualized roadmap for enriching their child's unique learning process," said Winnie Wechsler, executive vice president and general manager of Internet and broadband services at Lightspan. "eSCORE.com's ability to customize educational services and information for parents and kids really enhances the range of resources already available at Lightspan's portal."

"Our relationship with Lightspan brings eSCORE.com's customized resources together with one of the Internet's largest online communities of K-12 parents, teachers and students," said Robert Waldron, chief executive officer of SCORE! Learning, Inc., eSCORE.com's parent company. "This is a tremendous opportunity to let more parents know about eSCORE.com's innovative, Internet-based learning services, and to inform teachers about eSCORE.com assessment tools that can add value in the classroom and help them to empower parents as partners in the educational process."

Launched in February, Lightspan.com is the first Web portal in the education market that provides quality access to education content on the Internet and that bridges the classroom and home learning environments.

eSCORE.com identifies and evaluates a child's particular learning needs and interests using a combination of brief assessments and questionnaires, along with direct input from parents. eSCORE.com education specialists partner with parents, recommending activities, services, and products to address the learning needs of their child. Users can also access highly interactive services such as one-to-one consultations with learning specialists; state test resources; child development workshops; and content developed with educational organizations such as Harvard Project Zero. eSCORE.com will launch online tutoring later this year.
