Kaplan's kaptest.com and The Wall Street Journal's collegejournal.com Help Recent College Graduates Face the "Real World"

New York (July 11, 2000) – Recent college graduates looking for a job in the "real world" have incredible opportunities, due mostly to technology, the booming economy and the rise of e-commerce. Kaplan, the leading provider of education and career services and collegejournal.com, the premier career site for college students from The Wall Street Journal, have built reciprocal sections containing crucial content, information and services to help young adults realize and take advantage of the wide range of opportunities and career choices that lie ahead. The sections will be housed on kaptest.com and collegejournal.com.

"Kaplan's sixty years of experience helping young adults reach their educational goals has given us a unique perspective and understanding of the pressures that they face," said Sharon Miller, Vice President and General Manager of kaptest.com. "The Wall Street Journal's broad audience enables us to expand our services to millions of Web-savvy young adults."

Both kaptest.com and collegejournal.com reach students through the Internet, helping them transition from college life into the working world by providing information on such topics as how to write a resume, interview for a job, negotiate for salary and benefits, and enter graduate school.

"We provide our college audience with thorough, timely career guidance, as well as one of the most extensive job databases on the Internet," said Tony Lee, editor in chief and general manager of collegejournal.com. "We are pleased with our alliance with Kaplan, and to expand access to our comprehensive advice and information to ease what can be an intimidating and confusing process for many college students."

Kaplan will provide collegejournal.com with information and services on graduate school admissions, including Kaplan Test Samplers and free practice tests. Each of Kaplan's Test Samplers includes samples of each question type in a mini practice test, as well as correct answers and strategic explanations.

Available on kaptest.com will be articles from collegejournal.com about job hunting, relocating, interviewing and resume writing, as well as access to JobSeek, a database of 30,000+ top job opportunities; City Profiles, with critical data on living and working in 100+ U.S. cities; and in-depth salary data for thousands of job titles and functions.
