Former Vice President of NBC to Head Kaplan's Internet Business Unit, kaptest.com
New York, NY, November 8, 1999 Kaplan Educational Centers has named Sharon Miller Vice President and General Manager of the company's Internet business unit, kaptest.com. Miller joins the company from NBC, where she was Vice President of Business Development of its interactive division CNBC/Dow Jones. While there she was instrumental in striking lucrative content deals with such companies as Microsoft, Etrade, NewsEdge, and Merrill Lynch. As the head of kaptest.com, Miller will be responsible for growing Kaplan's test preparation and admissions services online and building the consumer brand worldwide through affiliate programs and web marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining NBC, Ms. Miller was Marketing Director for HarperCollins Interactive where she developed and introduced the book industry's first publishers' Internet site (www.harpercollins.com) with E-commerce capabilities and launched their award-winning CD-ROM titles. Ms. Miller also worked at Access Public Relations/Golin-Harris, where she managed award-winning marketing communications programs for consumer product and technology clients including AT&T, Sun Microsystems, the Learning Company, Seiko and Intuit.
