Kaplan Launches New York State Regents Exam Series
Guides Help Students Score with Distinction
NEW YORK, NY -- Students who want to maximize their scores on the New York State Regents Exam now have access to a series of new guides that offer more in-depth preparation than previously available. Kaplan Educational Centers, the nation's leader in test preparation, introduces The New York State Regents Exam Series (Kaplan/Simon & Schuster; 14.95 each). Other Regents exam books currently on the market offer only practice tests and answers. Kaplan is the first to offer comprehensive content review and test-taking strategies, plus practice tests and drills with explanations for each answer.
"The skills and subject matter measured on the Regents exams are fundamental to every student's academic success, in high school and beyond," says Seppy Basili, Director of Kaplan's Pre-College Program.
The introduction of Kaplan's Regents guides coincides with new legislation that will make it more challenging for New York State public school students to earn a high school diploma. Beginning in 2001, all students entering public high school in New York will be required to take three years each of mathematics and science, and pass at least five Regents exams as a condition for graduation.
Kaplan's The New York State Regents Exam Series covers 7 exams: Biology, Chemistry, Global Studies, U.S. History and Government, and Mathematics Course I, II and III.
Kaplan and Simon & Schuster jointly publish a full line of titles on subjects including test preparation, admissions, academic enrichment, career and life skills. With a proven track record in preparing students for standardized tests, all of Kaplan's test-preparation guides include a higher score guarantee. The New York State Regents Exam Series is available wherever books are sold.
