GLOBAL EDUCATION COMPANY KAPLAN AND CHINESE EDUCATION PROVIDER ACE FORM JOINT VENTURE

NEW YORK, April 18, 2007 – Kaplan, Inc., a global education company, has formed a joint venture with ACE Education, a leading provider of education in China.  The new venture, Kaplan ACE, will provide preparation courses for entry to U.K. universities, along with degree and professional training programs at campuses throughout China.
 
Gerald M. ACE Education was established in 1997.  In partnership with the Northern Consortium UK (NCUK), a university consortium of leading British universities, ACE offers international undergraduate and postgraduate programs in major cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Qingdao, Suzhou and Changsha.
 
Kaplan’s Asia Pacific operations also include FTC Kaplan, an international leader in accountancy and financial training in Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong, and a strategic partnership with New Channel International Education, which provides English language training and test preparation for students seeking to take required Chinese university language exams.  Kaplan acquired the Asia Pacific Management Institute, based in Singapore, in 2005, and the Hong Kong Putonghua Vocational School (HKPVS), which provides Mandarin language training, in 2006.  Last year Kaplan also acquired Tribeca Learning Limited, a leader in education and professional development to the financial services, accounting and real estate sectors in Australia.
