Kaplan Professional Acquires Southern Nevada School of Real Estate, a Leading Provider of Pre-Licensing and Continuing Education Chicago, IL, August 3, 2004 - Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan, Inc., announced today that it has acquired Las Vegas-based Southern Nevada School of Real Estate, a leading provider of real estate licensing and continuing education. The company will become part of Kaplan Professional Schools, which provides real estate, insurance, securities, home inspection and appraisal licensing and continuing education programs. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With this acquisition, Kaplan extends its real estate offerings to professionals in Nevada, where it already offers securities, insurance, appraisal, and home inspection education through Kaplan Professional Schools. For the last 17 years, Nevada has been the nation's fastest-growing state, reaching a population of 2.3 million in 2003. According to the Nevada Division of Real Estate, the number of real estate licensees has increased from 18,246 in 2001 to 24,261 in March 2004.
