New International College Being Planned for Sheffield
Sheffield, UK – August 9 – The University of Sheffield has chosen Kaplan International Colleges, a subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc., as its preferred partner for a joint venture to develop a new International College in Sheffield. The parties are aiming to finalise the arrangements by October 2005.
The college will offer pre-Undergraduate Foundation and pre-Masters courses to international students in a number of disciplines including arts, social sciences, sciences and engineering. The first intake of students is planned for September 2006.
Jackie Gresham, Director of the English Language Teaching Centre at the University of Sheffield, said: “We’re looking forward to working alongside Kaplan International Colleges to develop this facility which will provide international students with the academic and English language skills they need to study at institutions like the University of Sheffield.”
