KAPLAN’S ANDREW S. ROSEN AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS DIAMOND AWARD

Ft. Lauderdale, FL, May 16, 2008--Andrew S. Rosen, the CEO and President of Kaplan University, has been named a 2008 Diamond Award recipient. The award, sponsored by The South Florida Business Journal and Levinson Jewelers, recognizes Rosen for his vision, innovation and integrity as one of the top CEOs in Broward County.

Rosen and the eight other award recipients were announced and recognized on Thursday evening during a kick-off reception hosted by Levinson Jewelers in Plantation, FL. Rosen, several of his Kaplan colleagues, past Diamond Award honorees and members of the South Florida business community attended the reception held at the jewelers. He will receive his award during a formal dinner in the fall.

Rosen has led the company’s efforts into the burgeoning online education market. Its online businesses include Kaplan University, Concord Law School of Kaplan University, the nation’s first fully online law school, and Kaplan Virtual Education, which offers online high school programs. In addition to his responsibilities at Kaplan University, Rosen also serves as the CEO of Kaplan Higher Education, and President and Chief Operating Officer of Kaplan, Inc.

Kaplan University, with major operations in South Florida, is Kaplan’s fastest-growing business. It has grown from 34 students in 2001 to more than 37,000 online students today.  Under Rosen’s leadership, Kaplan’s employee ranks have grown significantly in South Florida. In July 2007, Kaplan University opened its second 100,000 square-foot environmentally-friendly facility to accommodate its growth. Today, Kaplan Higher Education has more than 2,100 employees in Florida.
