Jon Williams Named Chief Technology Officer at Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions
Former CTO of Grey Healthcare to Lead Technology Initiatives for the Test Prep and Admissions Division of Kaplan, Inc.
NEW YORK, NY, May 17, 2004 - Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, a division of worldwide educational services leader Kaplan, Inc., today announced that Jon Williams has joined the division as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), a newly created position. In this new role, Williams will provide strategic guidance and leadership on overall technology matters impacting the unit.

Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions is the first and leading provider of exam preparation and admissions services worldwide. Williams' responsibilities will include the management of product technology, business systems and web development. As such, he will oversee the various teams responsible for all of the division's critical technologies.
Williams brings over twenty years of relevant experience to Kaplan. Most recently, he was the CTO and Senior Vice President of Grey Healthcare. In this position, he managed all aspects of technology for the world's fifth largest healthcare communications company, including the launch of the company's e-business division. Prior to that, Williams served as a consultant and technology architect for clients including AOL Time Warner, Scholastic, Oxygen Media, and ATG.
Originally from Australia, Williams has held a number of programming and project management posts overseas. He has also served in leadership positions at two Silicon Alley Web pioneers: Interactive Imaginations, one of the first Internet-based advertising companies and predecessor to 24/7 Media, and leading online music retailer N2K, now part of CDNow/Bertelsmann.
Williams is the co-founder of the New York CTO Club professional organization and a member of Infoworld magazine's CTO Advisory Council.
He received a degree in Computer Science from Melbourne University in 1983.
